Can I avoid specific ingredients?
While you can't remove ingredients from a meal, you can filter your browsing experience so you're less likely to see meals that contain them:
- Use categories, proteins or avoid filter: Use the Categories, Proteins, or Avoids filter: When browsing the menu, select any of these options to filter meals based on specific criteria. Keep in mind that ingredient filtering through the Avoids option only supports the main FDA-recognized allergens — such as milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat/gluten, soy, and sesame.
- Set up your Taste Profile: Under Account → Taste Profile → Ingredients to Avoid, you can save your preferences so they apply to your recommendations and autopilot selections automatically.
These filters work at the meal selection level — they help you find meals that don't include those ingredients rather than removing ingredients from a meal you've already chosen.
Note that you can't filter by all ingredients at this time — it's designed to help with the main criteria important for dietary needs and allergies, not individual recipe components like feta, kale, or rice.
